Santa Catalina Park

Santa Catalina Park is the heart of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival: the space where a big themed stage is built every year, in keeping with the theme of the festivities, and where the main galas, competitions and festive events are held.

Its location is also unique. On one side are the Port of La Luz and Las Palmas and Santa Catalina Dock: the cruise ship dock. On the other, Las Canteras Beach. Santa Catalina Park was the centre of the burgeoning of tourism in the city in the mid-20th century. It is a public space that, like the capital of Gran Canaria itself, maintains its open, cosmopolitan spirit. The transport links  to this place, right in the city centre, facilitate the influx of people to the Carnival.
