This is the official Carnival start: the stars of this show are the people in the audience that day, and the master or masters of ceremonies, one or more people with a high social or popular profile, usually closely connected to local public life and, as is often the case, with a special bond with this Carnival celebration. This is an event that brings everyone together, and it is preceded by a parade which livens the streets with Batucada drum groups and Carnival rhythms. <\/p>\n
