With colourful costumes, and to the beat of the Batucada drums and Latin sounds, the <em>Comparsa<\/em> members liven up both the streets and the stage set up for the festivities.<\/p>\n<p>The adult <em>Comparsa<\/em> contest is one of the Carnival\u2019s classic events, with the first edition being held in 1978.
