Isidro Javier Pérez Mateo was sure from when he saw the first Drag Queen Gala that he wanted to get up on a pair of platform shoes, and ten years after first taking part in the naughtiest event of the Carnival he managed to take the winner’s sash.


Daniela Medina Ortega

Daniela, a Graduate in Medicine from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, was born into a family that instilled in her their passion for the Carnival and belief in studying hard. So as the leading lady of the “Planet Earth” Carnival says, there was nothing strange about seeing her at the age of four as the leader of the group her parents founded with Ramón Sánchez: the comparsa Río Bamba.


Drag Sethlas

For the second time in history, Sethlas was crowned as the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival Drag Queen, title that was also achieved back in 2017.


Minerva Hernández Hernández

The story starred by Minerva Hernández had a happy ending: on the night of February 21, 2020, the young woman from Fuerteventura was crowned as the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival Queen.

Minerva is a 26-year-old from Fuerteventura, where she lived her entire life until moving to the capital of Gran Canaria to study law, at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. She is currently studying a master’s degree and, during the little spare time she has, pursues one of her main passions: carnival.


Chari Alvarado

"Once upon a time, there was a woman who managed to be chosen Grand Dame of the most popular and craziest festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. His name, Chari Alvarado".

The representative of Restaurante Hermanos García II and Ferretería José Jiménez Ventura was the first to occupy a place on the throne of the Royal Carnival Court. Her fantasy, “Si puedes soñarlo, puedes vivirlo” (If You can Dream It, You can Live It), was designed by Kevin Rodríguez and Enrique González, and along with her "royal" appointment, the Grand Dame received an award given by Hebe, Centro de Envejecimiento Activo, a €500 check for care treatments.


Erika Echuaca Sebe

The 2019 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival has its Queen now. Erika Echuaca Sebe, with her costume "Volar sin alas" (Fly without Wings); designed by Nauzet Afonso, representing McDonald’s, won the hearts of the jury at the gala held on the night of 1 March 2019.


Luisa Lozano

Luisa Lozano was the first to ascend her fiesta throne, on the night of Sunday, February 17.

Representing the restaurant La Flamenca de la Feria, she received her title from the hands of the mayor, Augusto Hidalgo. Luisa carried off the crown thanks to the costume created by Willy Díaz, with the title of "Stampa do Brasil" (A Scene from Brazil). As well as the title of veteran ruler, Luisa Lozano received a set of products for personal care, a gift from Kielh's.


Drag La Tullida

La Tullida was proclaimed Drag Queen of the Carnival of ‘Magic and Fantastical Creatures’ with her metamorphosis from Massiel to Salomé and from Salomé to ‘Rose of Spain’ in a brief tour of Spain’s representatives in the Eurovision Song Contest. The show ‘Listen, my dear! The twelve points go to…’, representing Ron La Indiana, with a costume by Adrián Castellano and Antonio Ceballos, completely won over the audience, who gave it maximum points, as did two panels of judges.


Ana Suárez Álvarez

Ana Suárez Álvarez was proclaimed Queen of the 2018 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Carnival on the magical night of 9 February in the Santa Catalina Park, with the costume "A mi manera" (My Way), designed by Josué Quevedo, representing La Caja Fría and La Provincia.
