The festival comes to a close with the events that revolve around the Sardine’s Funeral, with a big parade that crosses the city before arriving at Las Canteras Beach, where the masked carnival-goers burn a huge sardine that symbolises the spirit of the Carnival. With this event the carnival-goers say farewell to the big festival on the water and amongst a great castle of fireworks.
